SCOTT DAVID BARRETT (that’s me!) is an Artist, Musician and Graphic Designer who feeds on the pursuit of intuitive communication.

My background in hospitality has earned me a keen ear to the public and with that, an interest in deconstructing the habits of the societal grind. I have quietly practiced the subtle art of listening, as we are people who just want to be heard. I believe in honoring experiences that shape you and being honest with what gets you up every morning. Mine ideally starts with a cup of coffee and a few chapters of my newest literary acquisition. When I’m not making collage art or professing my love of ellipses to the screen in the basement, I’m chasing down the dream of finding all my happy nooks.

While I believe rules and order are to be respected, there is something beautiful about fractured art, imperfection, fragility, and the willingness to follow your innate senses. I champion purveyors of the human experience: the words and music of DC Berman and Mark Linkous, the perverse art of David Carson, the creators of the California Burrito.

I’ve designed dozens of assorted media including record covers, t-shirts, music videos, and insightful coffee mugs. Selected work has been featured in the Oceanside and San Diego Public Library Zine Collections, MiraCosta College’s Tidepools publication, and CBS Channel 8 as part of the Pure Project Label Art Contest in 2022. Originally from Southern California, I traveled cross country and have settled in Maryland with my Wife and “little old man” Beans, aka Mr. Pupperoni. I hope to one day design books for a living.
