My design objective was to create an aesthetically pleasing brochure for the client, First Year Forward, while following MiraCosta guidelines including logo placement, color palette and required info. I was trying to find a way to incorporate all these specifics while choosing images and colors that invited inclusion and comradery.

The information is laid out with clear hierarchy and colors that complement each other and reference the school colors. while maintaining a visual symmetry that runs throughout the design.

Having feedback was essential to my learning process. I learned so much from this project, from my initial submission to revising and finalizing a completed brochure, with the mentorship of Professor Min Choi. I got a glimpse of what it is like to work under an Art Director, and make informed changes to my original design to communicate the message effectively. It was unexpectedly gratifying to be chosen as the final selection by the students. It felt rewarding and like I had created something that mattered.
