Mr. Leesburg Pageant

Mr. Leesburg is an annual Male Beauty Pageant that takes place in Downtown Leesburg, Virginia. It’s purpose is to “encourage men to be their authentic selves, support each other, contribute to a great cause, and bring awareness to the difficult topics of domestic violence and sexual assault.”

The money they raise from this event goes to aid LAWS: Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services. This year alone, they raised over $15,000!

For their 2nd Annual Pageant, the client wanted a refresh on their logo, and gave me the freedom to work through various ideas.

I think the most challenging aspect of this project was to focus on the “less is more” element. My initial ideas revolved around image manipulation and a collage inferred feel. Ultimately the client wanted something with less text and to hone in on more of an icon.

After a few iterations, I ended up with the final logo, which gives a quirky visual nod to the original. I’m so proud to have been a part of this worthwhile event.
