The Roadies Brewing Co. is an upcoming 10BBL Brewery started by husband & wife Diane and Sean Hilz, producing fantastic modern beer in the city of Vista, CA.

The owners completely overhauled the space, years ago home to the the beloved-now-defunct Toolbox Brewing and turned it into a music aficionados dream- from the performance stage (soon to feature local music) to the bathroom decor, to the ceiling lights procured from drum heads.

For this project I was asked by my good friend and industry pal, Angela O’Brien (Roadies’ Taproom Manager) to come up with a concept for their Crowler label. They were intrigued my collage art and were responsive to incorporating that aesthetic into the design.

The challenge was finding a balance between imagery, vector art and white space. I utilized both Photoshop and Illustrator to form a coherent scene that spoke to their theme.

It is always a great experience dealing firsthand with clients who know not only what they want, but leave the door open for creativity.

I was happily satisfied with the end result, a combination of so many of my favorite things: music, beer and art!
